Forbes Mckenzie
Founder and CEO
Forbes is the Chief Executive Officer of MIS and founded the company following a decorated 10 year career in the British Army as a Special Duties Intelligence Officer, during which he led and implemented numerous global high risk strategic intelligence operations.
Since 2011, he has guided MIS from a start-up to an award winning scale-up that enjoys long standing commercial relationships with many of the world’s leading insurers. Alongside numerous sensitive Intelligence qualifications, Forbes has been nationally recognised by the UK honours system via a Mention in Dispatches and holds a BSc (Hons) in Geography (GIS and Climate change) from the University of Glasgow.

Emma Dunlop
Commercial Director
Emma is the Commercial Director. Emma came to MIS after 11 years working as a buyer in the retail sector for Sainsbury’s and Marks & Spencer. Her most recent retail appointment was as a Category Manager for Tesco where her area was worth £900 Million per annum. Emma is an experienced negotiator and has a strong financial understanding of business.
As Commercial Director, Emma is responsible for the financial oversight and reporting to the board and shareholders. She is the point of contact for all shareholders and strategises all commercial negotiations.
Emma has a 2.1 joint honours degree in History and Politics from the University of Glasgow and has achieved Distinction level at the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

Will Bonner
Chief Operating Officer
Will is the Chief Operating Officer at MIS. Following an early career as a military intelligence officer, Will has subsequently worked across a variety of geographies and industries in both senior managerial and consulting roles. Key appointments have included the establishment and growth of the regional arm of a location based services company in Africa as General Manager and leading the delivery of several highly sensitive multi-year government capability development programs in the Middle East as a Management Consultant. Will holds an MBA from the Open University.

Rosina Smith
Head of Product
Rosina Smith is McKenzie Intelligence Services’ (MIS) Head of Product and leads their fast-growing product team. After seven years at one of the largest insurers in the world, Allianz, and involvement with Insurtech in London and the US, Rosina has extensive knowledge and experience in the insurance industry. Throughout her career so far, she has been at the forefront of setting up GIS-focused solutions, focusing on how location intelligence can be applied to both underwriting and claims practices. As a result, this led to a move to MIS to assist in the build and spearhead the launch of their Global Events Observer (GEO), MIS’ event response product, which is quickly transforming how the insurance industry consumes and uses GIS data to be able to respond to global catastrophic risks and conflicts more efficiently and accurately.
ACII-certified and holding a BSc in Mathematics & Management from the University of Nottingham, Rosina is also currently studying for an MBA at Henley Business School.

Louise Jones
Head of Intelligence
Louise has joined MIS as Head of Intelligence after serving for seven years in the British Army as an Intelligence Officer. During her time in the military, she served in a variety of roles leading complex Intelligence operations around the world. After leaving the Army, she gained further experience bringing her Intelligence skill set to investigative journalism and subsequently to finance. In her role as Head of Intelligence, Louise is leading the process to integrate multi source data into a platform delivering at the cutting edge of intelligence innovation for our customers.

Daniel Grimwood-Bird
Head of Sales & Marketing
Daniel Grimwood-Bird is the Head of Sales & Marketing at McKenzie Intelligence Services (MIS), an Insurtech who, with their event response platform, Global Events Observer (GEO), helps customers plan, monitor, and respond to natural catastrophes and conflicts more efficiently and accurately, anywhere in the world.
As an experienced Client Development and Business Development Director, Daniel has nearly 20 years of experience in the Insurance Industry. He brings extensive experience developing SaaS start-ups/scale-ups with him to MIS. As Head of Sales & Marketing, Daniel manages the sales and marketing teams. He plays a crucial role in identifying solutions that will create value for insurers, reinsurers, loss adjusters, and the wider insurance ecosystem, from reserving claims response and settlement to parametric insurance proposition development.

Charlie Robson
People Manager
Charlie joined MIS as their People Manager in 2021. After honing her HR skills in a fast-paced sales environment, she brings a wealth of people-based experience and is championing our People and Culture strategy through the implementation of policy and the introduction of a killer benefits package. Charlie is well-versed in GDPR and is using those skills to help shape MIS’s security framework as well as heading the talent and recruitment function of our scale-up.
Charlie has a BA (Hons) in English Literature from Aberystwyth University and is an Associate member of the CIPD.

Calvin Wylie
Lead Developer
Calvin Wylie is a software developer with multiple specialisations. Initially starting his career in video games programming, he has since built expertise in web development and GIS software and his graduate thesis focused on Real Time Machine Learning Algorithms. Since joining MIS, Calvin has used his knowledge and investigative skills to help the company enhance satellite imagery delivery and analysis as well as his games background to prototype client centric data visualisation techniques.

Information Security Manager
Reg is a IT Security Officer for MIS. A self-employed Intelligence and Security contractor with significant training and mentoring experience and another former member of the British Army’s Intelligence Corps for 26 years, he is well versed in the exploitation of all types of imagery. Reg has put these skills to great use supporting the insurance market reporting on natural catastrophes and events such as the Beirut explosion in 2020. He holds a Bsc (Hons) in Intelligence and Security and a City and Guilds Graduateship in Intelligence Management.

Dominique Morizet
Strategic Account Manager
Dominique Morizet has joined MIS’ sales and marketing team as a Strategic Account Manager, where he will assist clients in maximising the GEO platform and actionable intelligence throughout their exposure management and claims processes.
Before joining us, he worked for Prevail Partners, a leading security advisory firm, where he served as a programme manager responsible for client engagement and product design and leveraged the latest technology to provide senior decision-makers and their organisations in the public sector and business with unique insight to add significant value.
Joining most of the MIS team, Dominque is an intelligence professional and served in the British Army for eight years as an Intelligence Officer. In this role, he gained extensive experience in Crisis Management and was an expert in creating specialised intelligence teams, helping decision-makers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa achieve operational success in multi-agency environments.

Dominique will also collaborate closely with Louise Jones, MIS’s Head of Intelligence, on our expanding consultancy arm, delivering high-quality bespoke reports for our clients in insurance, Commerce and the public sector.

Senior Imagery Analyst
Stuart ‘Stu’ Ray is a remote sensing/satellite imagery expert. He completed 24 years in the Intelligence Corps of the British Army, during which he held various analytical appointments in a number of operational posts. Stu joined MIS in 2012 and was instrumental in adapting military processes to an entirely different customer base, excelling in supporting the specialist information requirements of our clients. He has experience in providing professional technical and subject matter expertise during deposition, resulting in favourable outcomes to our clients on complex business interruption, property and engineering losses. Stu holds a City and Guilds Graduateship in Intelligence Management.

Senior Imagery Analyst
Andrew ‘Oz’ Smith is a remote sensing/satellite imagery expert. As an intelligence analyst he has had a varied career across multiple disciplines within the Intelligence Corps of the British Army. His 24 years of service saw him providing specialist intelligence and advanced imagery intelligence to the Armed Forces and other partners. Since joining MIS in 2014, Oz has used multiple imagery sources and combined them with advanced technologies to deliver a service to various markets, including the media, insurance and environmental sectors.

Duncan Martyn
GIS and Remote Sensing Lead
Duncan Martyn is a GIS and Remote Sensing Lead holding a BSc (Hons) in Geography and MSc in Applied GIS and Remote Sensing, as well as Fellowship of the Royal Geographical Society. His undergraduate and postgraduate theses focused on the effects of climate change on vegetation and agriculture. Prior to joining MIS, Duncan continued work on a UN Food and Agriculture international development project. He has considerable experience with a variety of GIS and remote sensing data types, techniques, software, and programming thereof.

Matthew is a Client Solutions Analyst within the Product team at MIS. He has experience working in the Lloyd’s market as an Exposure Analyst at international specialty (re)insurer, Chaucer Group. In his previous role he gained first-hand experience working with location-level exposure data, catastrophe models and event response.

Sinclair Ross
Software Engineer
Sinclair Ross is a software engineer working to develop our underlying infrastructure. Coming from the games industry, he brings with him experience of engineering UI and graphics rendering solutions for titles on both Microsoft’s XBox One and Sony’s Playstation 4. Specialising in low level languages, Sinclair is able to write faster software with an emphasis on extensibility and scalability and provide this valuable asset to our offering.

Data Scientist
Jake has recently joined the MIS development team as a Data Scientist, focusing on automation of remote assessment and developing new insights using client and historic event data. He is a recent graduate from the University of the West of England in Computer Science, where he specialised in Artificial Intelligence, and his undergraduate research project used machine learning to identify plastic waste in the ocean using satellite imagery.
Jake also has a background in amatuer game development and spends his free time undertaking competitive game jam projects.

Michael completed 9 years service in the Royal Air Force as an intelligence analyst, specialising as an imagery intelligence analyst. He held various analytical appointments and deployed on several operational tours of duty. Upon leaving the Royal Air Force, Michael has supported United Nations missions and European Maritime Safety Agency environmental missions as an imagery intelligence analyst and sensor operator using remotely piloted aircraft systems. Having joined MIS in September 2021, Michael is looking forward to drawing upon his skills and experiences to best support customer and client requirements.

James is a Client Solutions Analyst within the Product team at MIS, being the contact point for insurance clients to support their interpretation and application of MIS’ intelligence.
James holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham and has experience working within the research and development team of a Lloyd’s syndicate for the past two years. James hopes to add to the technical capabilities and extend MIS’ client success.

Junior Front-End Developer
Mike Allen is a Front-End Developer holding a BSc in Web Design and Development. His undergraduate dissertation explored and developed a GIS tool to aid businesses in their marketing strategies and visualise their sales data on a global scale.
Specialising in front-end languages and UX design, Mike is able to design new software with an emphasis on usability and accessibility and holds a keen eye for consistent and modern design implementation.

David Adeoye is an accomplished software engineer with a strong background in both physics and IT. As a front-end developer, he possesses a unique combination of technical expertise resulting from both a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Information Technology. Through his experience working on a variety of projects and in a variety of roles, David has gained extensive knowledge throughout his career. Among his skills are data analysis, back-end development, and research, and he has demonstrated a strong ability to adapt to new technologies.
